Our time thrives on significant social and ideological contrasts, but “everything is one” and only through mutual acceptance of the other can we reach a desired harmony.

The importance of art is in communicating a concept through the work, making it universal and accessible to all.  It is up to the viewer to grasp the message.

After investigating the relationship with the Other, since 2009 I have been developing the project “Harmony of Opposites” creating the series “Petals”, “Scraps”, “Drops”, and through the juxtaposition of colors I imagined a contemporary society in which individuals / colors, while maintaining their own identity, can coexist in diversity bringing enrichment.

Obviously we need clear, fair rules, but above all shared by all.  The positive effort is evident; otherwise I think extremisms capable of proposing a single color have an easy game.

With “Hugs” this effort increases in intensity and if on the one hand it exploits the emotionality of monochrome, on the other it compares each work individually, reinforcing the concept of identity, but in a “global embrace”; in the softness of the gesture and in the strength of the color.

Waves” recalls a reflection on the protagonist of the moment: the sea.  It receives and discharges sufferings, hopes, colors; there is no rock that can stem it.

Spaces” exasperates the idea of framing in the attempt of an equitable distribution of individuals, but everything is destined to be questioned due to the unstoppable present and future inputs.  Hence the idea of the manual, almost orderly cut of the medium.  Only chromatism gives us hope and in spite of everything it leads us back to the dream of harmony between opposites.

With “Traces” the idea is to overcome the accumulations in a space, represented through “Petals” (slow), “Scraps” (neurotic), “Drops” (incessant) and to imagine a sort of fusion whose result is a loss or enrichment of identity, leaving the viewer the task of choosing one of the two options.  The juxtaposition, where the idea of identity was enhanced through a game of contrasts, is then replaced by the horizontal and vertical intersection with the aim of leaving traces of color, traces of identity.

In “Dandelions”, through the metaphor of the Dandelion, I wanted to represent the transience and the beauty of the encounters that mark everyone’s life.  Life is a breath and it is necessary to grasp its essence.  People who suddenly arrive in our life and leave just as quickly leave ideas and enrichment anyway.

Each series conceived is the result of the previous one, all with the aim of achieving harmony in a metaphorical way through the contrast of sign, gesture and color, in a game of opposites that reinforce each other.

I have always believed that the artist should live his time, stimulating the present and imagining the future according to his own sensitivity; proposing another representation, but important as an idea.

And the dialogue continues …
